Transparent Solids

I have a 3-D Dytran model with beam elements embedded in solid elements. To animate the results, I like to make my solid elements trasparent so I can see the beam elements inside. Can anyone tell me how to do it.

pls use DISPLAY SHADING and use the transparency slidebar to make your model transparent. did you know that you can display the beams w/ fringe plots on them while you are looking at the non-fringed solids?

Use create fringe, use the Target Entities Icon to select only the beams and add that to your deformed plot of the solids. If you have enough feature lines from a deformed plot on free edges only, such that you still see your solids well, you may want to use that. This way your solids are completely translucent.
